Way of St James

In early March, a Benedictine Monk and an Oblate along with a third friend will walk the last stages of the Camino, the ancient pilgrimage route to the Shrine of St James in Compostella in Spain.

The daily routine will include the monastic office, Holy Mass, the Rosary and silent prayer.  These will be offered, along with the penance of the walk, for the increase of vocations to the religious life and in particular to St Michael's Abbey Farnborough, a Benedictine Monastery in Hampshire, UK.

Whilst not asking for financial sponsorship for this walk, the walkers would greatly benefit from your spiritual closeness to them through your prayers.  In return they will pray for you and will try to blog along the way to keep you up to speed with the progress of the walk as well as the preliminary visits to some of the shrines of France as they make their way by road to their starting point.  You might also consider offering a stipend to your local priest asking him  to offer Mass for the intention of vocations to the monastery at Farnborough.

St James - pray for us!
St Benedict - pray for us!
St Justin - pray for us!
